Wow! I am soooooo happy. My technical blog has today got a traffic of 500 hits. There was a time when the first 500th hit took 4 months.

I wish my blog continues to be popular like this only.

Blog Update

Yesterday we had to go to a place which is 10 KM from where I stay. Since the temperature in Pune is still high we decided to go by autoricksaw as Aarush was also with us.

We also took autoricksaw while returning back. Nothing unusual happened so far. The autoricksaw driver charged us Rs. 90 for approx 12 KM. I didn’t have the change hence given him Rs. 100 and told him to keep the change as I was getting late for my office and I didn’t have the time for getting the change. To my surprise the autoricksaw driver told me that he will give me the change and told me to wait there. I told him that I will be coming back as I have to go for office and he agreed to meet me at the autoricksaw stand which is in the way to my office. Albeit I didn’t believe this I said yes to him.

When I started for my office and went near that stand I had seen that man waiting for me with Rs. 10. I was really flattered by his act.

Normally as per my perception these autoricksaw drivers are supposed to loot you. They ask for the fares higher than normal. Few days back we had boarded an autoricksaw whose driver has done something with the meter and the meter was running too fast to be unnoticed. I had left that autoricksaw after half kilometer only.

But yesterday’s incident made me to think that good and bad people are everywhere.

Cheers,

Kamlesh

The Day Today

Woke up in the morning at 5.30, connected internet, wished Amit on his birthday and had chats with Vivek. That is all I did and I usually do every morning.

I do give a thought about I must write something for my technical as well as this blog. As mentioned in my previous post that I wont be writing something great here. So I am just writing in the blog whatever is coming to my mind.

Lets talk something about my office. I have been assigned a work which was supposed to be completed in 10 days. However I completed that in 4 days only. Still we all got an order (this used to be a request in my previous company) from my project manager that we have to work on weekends for next fortnight. I really don’t wish to spend the time in office which is for my family. I want to spend my weekends with Aarush only.

Most of the IT people do not understand this, because most of them are unmarried at my level. They prefer money over life. They all resemble the rich monk who got a hold of their Ferrari and don’t want to think about selling it. They spend all there time in office. Their life, friends, family everything is in office.

I can’t understand why people love staying in office for so long. I am sure they don’t work all the time. They take long lunch breaks, many tea brakes, go for a walk with colleagues, surf net, chit chat with colleague and so on.

There are ways to spend time and there are ways to invest time also. Now it totally depends on what you choose.

Don’t know how I will deal with these monks. :(

Good morning and Cheers!

Birds need us

I am back again to my favorite blog space after few months. I really don’t want to make this statement but I am really finding it difficult to be consistent in updating the blog.

Since I changed the blog URL I have been introspecting the reasons for not managing some time for blog. There are many which I felt. I have recently changed company and hence my timings also got changed. I could not manage the habit of “early to bed and early to rise”. However now as I am little bit settled with my new company and work, I feel now I can adhere to my old routine.

Another reason for not writing the blog was that I wish every post to be great at least interesting, which is simply not possible for me. Even for good posts you need to think, structure and then write the post. So I have now decided to follow the principle of KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid). It will be easier for me to write daily updates kind of thing  rather than great and interesting posts.

I have recently added the habit of reading books (other than Java) in my routine. I have read books like “Rich dad Poor Dad”, “The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari”, “The White Tiger” in past month. And I am reading “The Secret” now a days. The Monk… had a great impact on me as I made many resolutions after reading that book. I can not follow all, but I am these days trying few things like administrating my thoughts, trying to be happy and self contained. (You are laughing huh! But these things really work. I will surely give lectures on these in some of my posts).

[I just scrolled up to see that I have written couple of paragraphs in no time, that is the benefit of KISS.]

That was all I had for today. It’s a cool Saturday morning and I have lots of work as this is last official day of the week. I will be back with more just to keep the momentum :)

Wish you all a happy weekend!

Cheers,
Kamlesh

I am not a biker as I prefer my company bus due to various reasons :) . I discovered a very good definition of Biker on www.xbhp.com for all bike lovers. This is the website which all of you must spend some time if you love or dream to be a biker. Below is the link:

Aarush's First Birthday

Aarush is one year old now and we recently celebrated his first birthday.

The Cake

The Cake

Parents want to make this occasion to be a big and memorable one. We also wanted the celebrations to be memorable but in a different manner. We were not in the favour of organizing a grand party for celebrating the birthday. Because we consider this a way of making public relations nothing else. We really wanted to do something great rather than grand. So we decide to celebrate our betu’s birthday in an orphanage.

A little information about the venue: The name of the orphanage is ‘Niradhar Balsangopan Anath Ashram’ and it is located in Dapodi, Pune. The orphanage has around 35 children of age group 1 year to 13 year or so.

After deciding what we need to do, it was the time to organize the event. We talked to Mrs. Malan, who is the caretaker of the orphanage. She suggested us various ways to contribute such as giving groceries to them, arranging lunch or dinner for them, taking them to movies et cetera.

We thought if we give groceries to those children, this would hardly make any change in their day to day life, so we reserved this option for next time. We decided to arrange a small snacks party there in the evening around 4PM.  We invited some of our close friends. We made the necessary arrangements for the snacks, including cake and cold drinks. We also bought few kilos of biscuits and few hundreds of chocolates for the children.

Our residence is around 14 km from that place. We invited everyone at 4PM hence we reached there before the scheduled time. Almost all invitees reached there within next half an hour. The place was too small to accommodate the children also there were no ceiling fans. We really felt sad about that.

When everyone joined us there, the party started :) . Albeit we could not interact much with the children as the number of people were more than that can be accommodated, we enjoyed the party. The children enjoyed the snacks as well as the cold drink to the fullest.

Some of my friends also donated few things like blankets, money et cetera. Some of them also brought chocolates for the children.

We spent around 3 hours there. We had ordered the snacks more than required (We realized that later), so we had left all the stuff there only.

For us it was a great achievement to organize such an event successfully. We sincerely thank all our friends who came from different part of the city and made Aarush’s first birthday celebration a memorable one.

Hoping to continue such endeavours,

Mr. & Mrs. Kumar

My Favorite Biscuits

I just remembered once incidence of my college days so thought to share it. Milk cream biscuits are my favorite, especially if they are from Britannia. One of my friends got hospitalized once and I planned to visit him. I had bought two packets of milk cream biscuits for him. When I reached hospital, I  had taken out only one packet for him and leaving one for me in my bag. The most interesting thing was, I joined him and shared even that single packet of biscuit with him. He seemed to like that biscuit also because when the biscuits got finished, he told that the biscuits were very nice :) .

That was me!

Visakhapatnam Snaps

I had been to Visakhapatnam few months back for a three day trip. I found the city awesome and a must visit destination for everyone. The city is very neat and clean and has been developed and maintained very well. I guess what you see is what you believe the most, so here are few snaps of Visakhapatnam a.k.a. Vizag captured by me.

Please note that I am not a professional photographer so the live experience can not be compared by the snaps ;)

I Wish My Dear

Few lines written for my wife couple of years back:

I wish my dear

to be so near

so that I can look at her

and take care

without any fear

O Almighty God!

It’s my prayer

never let her eyes filled with tear

And if you cant do so

just pass all those tears to me, right here.

Cheers,

Kamlesh
